Hello!

My name is Alan. I created this site. I'm a web designer and developer that lives in Walkersville.

Why Do it?

I simply wanted to bring all the events of Walkersville together on an easy-to-navigate page.

I try to scan websites and grab events, but a good amount of events are manually entered. If you would like to add your own email me at [email protected]

Just a heads up...

It's hard collecting all these events in one area. Some events might not be updated up to the minute. I try to keep them as updated as I can, but if you're unsure about an event - please visit the event's actual website (if they have one, I include it in the event dropdown). I can't be held responsible for last minute changes or cancellations. I'll try my best, but with the sheer amout of events - it's difficult.

One Collector

For now, everything is being done by me. Design, development, admin, and searching for events. I'm still trying to figure out the best way to present everything, so please be patient while I work through some things.

Submit Your Own Events!

First off, let me just say - posting any event is totally FREE.

Event Rules!

1. Events need to physically happen in the Walkersville, MD area.
2. Events need to be accessible to the public
• For example, no members-only meetings or events.
• Events that need tickets to attend are fine, as long as ticket sales are public.
3. Events cannot be a direct business or product promotion
• No business open-houses.
• No business product demonstrations.
• The only exception is if the profits from the event are donated to those in need.
4. Events cannot be for recruitment.
• No political, religous or organizational meet and greets, coffee socials, etc.
5. All events need to be approved before posted or edited.
• I need to be sure the content or links are safe before posting to the public.
• Approval usually happens very quickly.

Submitting Individual Events

Until I setup a more complete system, please email [email protected] if you'd like to submit an event. You can either send me a link to your event or I can give you a page to fill out.

Submitting Multiple (or Recurring) Events

If you would like an administration panel to submit multiple events, I can create one for you. You can create, edit or delete events yourself. This is more geared towards organizations that may need to post many events.

Featured Events

These are events that are unique (non recurring) events. They will show up in the sidebar 7 days prior to the event date and have a special callout on the event card. Only site admins can set featured events. When a featured evenet is clicked, the user will be taken to that event card.

Sponsored Events (Sidebar)

You can have your event be a sponsored sidebar event. These events will appear 14 days prior to the event and be listed above the featured events. Sponsored events will stack by the date of the event, more recent at the top. When a sponored evenet is clicked, the user will be taken to that event card. You can purchase both sidebar and header sponsored events.

Sponsored Events (Header)

You can have your event be a sponsored header event. These events will appear 14 days prior to the event and be listed in the header of the website. When a sponored evenet is clicked, the user will be taken to that event card. You can purchase both sidebar and header sponsored events.

Get your event noticed!

I'm currently offering 2 locations for sponsored events.

Header Sponsorships

This spot puts your event in the header of the website 14 days prior to the event date. It's highest visibility area on the site for any event. The event card then pushes the user down to the actual event card - when the user clicks it. The main event card will contain all the info for that particular event.

Sidebar Sponsorships

These event sponsorships place the event in the sidebar above the 'featured events' section 14 days prior to the event. This spot shows the event title, date and time. When clicked, the user is then taken to the actual event card with all the event info.

Why Sponsorships?

These sponsorships help pay for the website hosting, development and work to insert all the events. They also help distinguish the more unique events from the others.

Please email [email protected] if you're interested. (I don't have any automated system setup yet!)
